The making of ash was greatly expedited this year by a bit of olive oil (one gets braver, you know).  And as I stood there watching the flames fly, I began to realize why preachers of yore were tempted to preach hellfire and damnation this season.

Note to self for next year:  fetch camera before lighting blaze.

beauty from chaos

The Lent blog is happening.

We’ve got a larger and more diverse pool of people this time:  mostly Piskie, with a few eccumenical friends thrown in.  Five of the seven diocese are represented (anyone from Moray or Aberdeen want to join?).    We have poets, priests, photographers, Fransiscans, and maybe even the odd prophet thrown in.

I’m hoping the title proves true.

calling all bloggers

Todays rain seems oddly Spring- like, and my thought have turned to Lent.

Many peope have asked if we will do a Lent Blog as we did in Advent.    We are at the ‘yes, in theory…’ stage.

We need more contributors if we are to pull off daily posts for six weeks.   If you would like to help us, or if you know of anyone who might enjoy the opportunity to write during Lent, please let me know.

Lent begins the first week in February.

The Lent blog is called Beauty from Chaos.
