Someone recently asked me why clergy from England would apply to churches in Scotland. There are lots of possible answers to that, some of which might even be sensible and true.
If it were me, the wish to escape dynamics like this in the the C of E might be reason enough.
This saddens me. Many of those who are considered traditionists now would have been considered dangerously liberal in times past.
Are they intent on preserving the CofE in “aspic” and risking the stagnation?
If the traditionists go to Rome and liberals go the SEC who will be left?
