four days on

Still tired.  Months of uncertainty taking their toll.

But, I’ve moved beyond Mamma Mia and Bridget Jones to take solace in paint chips and poetry.

So, tonight, an offering from Louise Gluck:

Snowdrops

Do you know what I was, how I lived? You know
what despair is; then
winter should have meaning for you.

I did not expect to survive,
earth suppressing me. I didn’t expect
to waken again, to feel
in damp earth my body
able to respond again, remembering
after so long how to open again
in the cold light
of earliest spring–

afraid, yes, but among you again
crying yes risk joy

in the raw wind of the new world.

Lent blog?

One of the things that has been sitting on my ‘to do’ list since Christmas is ‘Write to thank bloggers for Love Blooms Bright.’

Love Blooms had a smaller following this Advent, but the writing was often stunning, with a happy mix of styles and personalities.

So, the question is:  would anyone like to make a Lent Blog happen?  We are looking for a minimum of 7 people and a maximum of 14.

Would you please let me know

  1. if you are willing
  2. how often you would be willing to post (weekly, 4 times, occasionally)
  3. if you’re not a writer, but want to read it, you could let me know that too.  Knowing there is an audience (congregation?) adds incentive.

Here’s the link to last year’s blog:  Beauty from Chaos.  I may try to revamp it a bit, so if you get the timing right you may find creative chaos all around.
