Does transformation always require death?
September holiday sounds excellent, I hope it is refreshing! and not too much blogging either (although of course we’d welcome it).
Questions, I have plenty. Answers, fewer.
It is a very good question. I’m not sure I have a general answer. IN biology generally, I think it does – the more successful of the ‘transformations’ survives and the less dies. But biology is not spirituality. Perhaps what we need is a few concrete instances.
I think it is a question of defining death… In my opinion, one certainly doesnt need to die to be transformed – changes in circumstance or plain life experiences can do that. But if (as I picture it) transformation means changing from one thing to another, the old must make way (or die?) for the new…
